Alexander Khvtisiashvili, the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, discussed opportunities of investment and the country’s business environment with Eric Chan Kwok-ki, the Chief Secretary of the Government Administration of Hong Kong, a Special Administrative Region of China, the Ministry said on Wednesday.
A Georgian delegation involving Khvtisiashvili with Giorgi Pertaia, the President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Paata Kalandadze, the country's Ambassador to China, highlighted bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, innovation, tourism and trade with Lam Sai-hung, the Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Algernon Yau, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Kevin Yeung, the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism and Patrick Lau, the Deputy Executive Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, during their visit to the country.
The meeting also reviewed the 2019 free trade agreement between Georgia and Hong Kong and the visa-free travel agreement signed between the countries, in September.
The Ministry noted the parties agreed to continue joint work, exchange visits and maintain “close ties” to further deepen the collaboration.
The Georgian delegation also participated in the Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference that brought together logistics, maritime, air freight and supply chain management services providers and shippers, including manufacturers, traders and distributors, to exchange market intelligence and explore business opportunities in the region.
Within the visit, the Georgian side held meetings with heads of around 10 large domestic and international transport, logistics and trade companies based in the administrative region.
