Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Tuesday said a delegation led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze was “actively participating” in various events at the ongoing 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Speaking to the press, Darchiashvili noted the PM had had opportunities to engage with his international counterparts.
The PM also took part in a roundtable discussion focused on how nations can work together to minimize environmental risks associated with climate change. The discussion was highly engaging, with the PM contributing alongside other leaders”, the official said.
The FM further highlighted the importance of the talks, which he said had “explored ways for countries to collaborate closely with the UN in addressing global environmental and climate challenges”.
He also described the discussions as “valuable and significant”, highlighting the focus on international cooperation to tackle “pressing” climate issues.
