Developments since the parliamentary elections held last month in Georgia and matters surrounding the vote were discussed on Friday in a meeting between Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the Chair of the Central Election Commission of the country, Sean Dunne, the Director of the International Republican Institute observer mission, and other officials of the mission.

He also discussed the results of the third and final stage of compliance audit of the elections, conducted by American company PRO V&V and published on Thursday, which he said had  “confirmed the successful completion” of the observation of the vote and revealed “no problems”.

The Commission Chair highlighted the election administration stayed up to date on  reports and recommendations of international organisations and strove to incorporate their suggestions into “future electoral processes”.
