Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said he would engage in discussions with European leaders on Georgia’s European integration prospects during the fifth European Political Community Summit in Budapest, Hungary, scheduled to run later the same day.
Hosted by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the Summit will address challenges related to European security, with leaders from around 40 countries in attendance.
It is particularly interesting that this event is being held in Budapest, Hungary, shortly after the United States presidential elections”, Kobakhidze said.
The official highlighted he would use the platform, including his speech and panel discussions, to address ongoing developments in Georgia and its relations with the EU.
I will have a speech at the thematic panel, as well as at the closing plenary session, where messages related to our country and current events around our country will be heard”, he noted.
Calling EU integration his Government’s “foreign policy priority”, the PM pledged his discussions with European leaders would focus on Georgia’s relations with the EU and the current situation in the country.
The Georgian delegation also includes Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
