Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, the Georgian Deputy Interior Minister, and Junji Wakui, the Head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, on Saturday discussed the existing “close and fruitful” relations between the two countries and further enhancing the cooperation in the field of law enforcement, the Ministry said.

At an introductory meeting, Darakhvelidze thanked Wakui for his contribution to the development of the Ministry's capabilities, with the parties highlighting the support for the Emergency Management Service and successful projects implemented by the Japanese side, within which the Ministry’s employees had been trained in disaster risk reduction and cybercrime prevention.
The sides said they hoped the existing cooperation would become “more intense” through joint efforts in the future, the body added.
