Georgian PM congratulates Turkey on 101st anniversary, highlights “strategic partnership”

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday congratulated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey, highlighting “strategic partnership” and “dynamic” bilateral relations between the two nations. 

In a letter marking the occasion, the PM stressed the significance of the Georgia-Turkey partnership, which he said “contributes to the creation of new opportunities in the [South Caucasus] region and the implementation of strategically important projects”.

I warmly congratulate you on the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Turkey and extend my wishes for peace and prosperity to the brotherly Turkish people”, Kobakhidze said. 

The top official also acknowledged Turkey’s “unwavering support” for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, adding, “the Georgian Government remains committed to furthering the exemplary strategic partnership between our countries”.

Reflecting on regional security and cooperation, the PM asserted “I believe the efforts of our countries are important to ensure peace and stability in the region. Our bilateral and multilateral initiatives create an important basis for sustainable economic growth and stability”.
