German foreign office on Sunday said it was “fully supporting” preliminary findings and conclusions of the election observation mission of the Organisation for Security and Co-Operation in Europe Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights over the parliamentary elections held on Saturday in Georgia.

Earlier today, the mission commended what it called the “largely peaceful” vote and its “adequate legal framework” for holding “democratic elections”.

In a joint briefing in Tbilisi, the observers stressed the election administration had organised the vote “efficiently”, but added the public perception of its impartiality was “harmed by concerns about recent changes over its nomination and decision-making processes”.

“We are concerned about the reported tense environment and irregularities which must be addressed and remedied”, the German Ministry said.

The statement stressed the German Government was “closely following further events” in Georgia and called on all parties to “exercise restraint and avoid violence and further polarisation”.

Latest results from the Central Election Commission of Georgia show the  ruling Georgian Dream party will be represented by 89 MPs in the new Parliament following Saturday's vote.
