Georgia and Seychelles on Wednesday signed an air traffic agreement to promote direct regular flights between the countries, “foster tourism” and “strengthen trade relations”, the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency said. 

Signed during the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s Air Services Negotiation event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the agreement eliminates restrictions on the number of designated airlines and destinations..

The body added the agreement was set to take effect following the completion of domestic procedures by both governments.

The agreement was formalised by Givi Davitashvili, the Director of the Agency, and Antony Derjacques, the Minister for Transport of Seychelles. The signing ceremony was also attended by Irakli Asashvili, Georgia’s Ambassador to Malaysia.
