Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $16.77 billion in January-September, posting a 3.7 percent increase year-on-year, the Georgian National Statistics Office revealed on Tuesday.
The value of exports rose by 4.1 percent and equalled $4.78 billion, while imports also grew by 3.6 percent, amounting to $11.99 billion in the reporting period.

Trade deficit, a measure of the negative balance of trade in which imports exceed exports, reached $7.20 billion, and its share in trade turnover hit 42.9 percent.
