Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Tuesday highlighted the “need for rebooting the policy” with the United States and the European Union.

In his remarks over the matter, Darchiashvili noted the Georgian Government would be focused on the country’s European integration.

Over the last 12 years, everything was done to bring Georgia closer to the European family. We need to reboot our policy with both the United States and the European Union. Today, even with the naked eye, it can be seen that there are issues on which we have different opinions - there is no alternative to dialogue and exchange of views”, the top Georgian diplomat said.

He further added the country’s strategic partnership with China was “one of the most interesting steps” given the “main function” of the country was to “physically play the role of a connection” between the East and the West.
