The Embassy of Israel in Georgia on Wednesday expressed its “heartfelt condolences” over the death of a Georgian national, who had died as a result of a terrorist attack in Jaffa on Tuesday evening.

“The Israeli Embassy extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of the Georgian citizen, Ilia Nozadze, who was visiting his family in Israel and was tragically murdered in yesterday’s terrorist attack”, Hadas Meitzad, the Ambassador of Israel to Georgia, said.

“Terrorism spares no one - regardless of ethnicity, religion, or age. In this horrific event, seven innocent people were killed, and nine others were injured when Palestinian terrorists opened fire on centre of Israel, Tel Aviv-Jaffa”, the Embassy added.

Seven people were killed and at least eight others wounded in a shooting and stabbing terror attack in Jaffa on Tuesday evening, according to Israeli police, in one of the “deadliest terror attacks” in recent years.

Earlier today, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said the country’s Embassy was working with relevant Israeli bodies to repatriate the body of the deceased citizen to the country.
