Developments in Israel with the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas’ attacks on the country's territory were discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between the Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri and Hadas Meitzad, the Israeli Ambassador to the country.

Meitzad briefed Gomelauri on the updated information about the current situation in her country, while Gomelauri condemned the Hamas attacks that killed thousands in the country and sent his condolences over the victims.

The diplomat expressed her gratitude to the Georgian Government for its “unwavering support of the state and people of Israel”.

Since October 7, Hamas launched more than 5,000 rockets from Gaza into Israel territory, with the group’s fighters entering Israeli territory and kidnapping citizens, both alive and dead. The group is keeping over 100 individuals captive in Gaza, with the Israeli Government’s military response in the Sector killing at least 3,785 people as of Thursday.
