Giorgi Gabitashvili, the Prosecutor General of Georgia, on Monday met his Azerbaijani counterpart, Kamran Aliyev, on the sidelines of the 29th Annual Conference and General Assembly of the International Association of Prosecutors in Baku to discuss “effective partnership” in criminal law between the two countries, the Office said.
The parties also expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation, with Aliyev inviting Gabitashvili to a high-level plenary session scheduled for November 15 in Baku, which will be held in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
The meeting also featured Natia Merebashvili and Giorgi Badashvili, deputy prosecutor generals of Georgia, Irakli Chilingarashvili, the Head of the Department of International Relations and Legal Assurance of the Prosecutor’s Office, and representatives from both countries' prosecutor's offices.
