Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Wednesday said the keynote of the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's speeches at the United Nations had been focused on the Government’s “future efforts to live in a peaceful and developed” country.

Darchiashvili said Kobakhidze had focused on the importance of peace during his addresses at the UN General Assembly as well as the Security Council sessions.

It is important that Georgia was given the opportunity to appeal to the Security Council. Today, in a very difficult security environment, we had the opportunity to participate in an important platform at the level of the Prime Minister”, he said.

“What the Prime Minister announced is that our Government, under his leadership, is taking effective steps to ensure peace in our country, which brings prosperity to each of our citizens. We emphasised our efforts to ensure peace and development in Georgia”, the top Georgian diplomat said.

Darchiashvili further highlighted the PM’s focus on support for Ukraine amid the ongoing war by saying that “Georgia has always been, is and will be in solidarity with Ukraine”.
