Gia Volski, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and the First Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Wednesday said the appearance of Zurab Adeishvili, the wanted former Prosecutor General and Justice Minister of Georgia under the United National Movement Government, on the margins of the ongoing 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York was a “demarche”.

Volski’s comment followed after Adeishvili took part in official meetings and sessions at the session as part of a delegation of the Ukrainian President.

When we say that there was a bloody [UNM] regime, one of the main perpetrators of this was the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia, which knew exactly who should be tortured, what should be confiscated from whom, who should be imprisoned, and who should be humiliated”, the lawmaker said.

The Parliament official further claimed the development meant that “insulting a very large part of the Georgian public” was “a task and a goal”.
