Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Monday met Eoghan Murphy, the head of the observation mission of the Organisation for Security and Co-Operation in Europe Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, to discuss the country’s pre-election environment for the October 26 parliamentary elections.
Papuashvili briefed Murphy on parliamentary activities during the pre-election period, and the parties also discussed the mission’s work in the country, with Murphy introducing its activities to the Georgian official.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of electronic voting, introduced for the elections, with Murphy “positively assessing” the initiative, the Parliament said.
The Parliament Speaker extended his gratitude to Murphy for “years of successful activities” in Georgia.
