Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the Chair of the Central Election Commission of Georgia, on Saturday discussed the country's upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26 in a meeting with Cameron Quinn, a member of the Board of Directors of the Open Source Election Technology, the US non-governmental organisation, the election administration said.
The parties also reviewed the introduction of electronic technologies into the electoral process, the CEC noted, adding the OSET had taken interest in the Commission’s experience in this regard.
At the meeting, Kalandarishvili highlighted the Election Commission’s planned and implemented activities aimed at conducting the October elections under international standards and spoke about voter awareness and the challenges facing the CEC.
In her turn, Quinn wished the election administration success in holding the upcoming elections with the use of electronic technologies and also discussed further cooperation with the CEC Chair.
