EU Ambassador highlights commitment to Georgia's integration aspirations on International Day of Democracy

Paweł Herczyński, the European Union Ambassador to Georgia, on Sunday reaffirmed the bloc’s commitment to the country’s European integration in his messages on the International Day of Democracy. 

The EU has been a strong ally of Georgia since its independence. For decades, we have been helping to strengthen Georgia’s democracy. This and every day, we must ensure democratic values we share are upheld”, the diplomat said.

In his comments, the official also highlighted the role of democracy in ensuring fundamental human rights and the role of elections in “deciding a country’s future”, ahead of the October 26 general elections in Georgia.
