Tea Akhvlediani, Georgia's State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality had opened the School of Civil Integration for young individuals from ethnic minorities, the State Ministry said on Thursday.

The School hosted up to 70 young participants from the country’s densely populated ethnic minority community regions of southern Samtskhe-Javakheti, eastern Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti and is set to hold groups of students in three streams.

The State Minister noted the partakers would receive detailed information about support mechanisms implemented by the Georgian State for the youth of ethnic minorities. Topics to be discussed include civil equality, European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia, media literacy, youth leadership in civil integration, women's rights and freedoms, gender equality and so on.

Our Civil Integration School initiative is mainly focused on young people from the regions which are densely populated by ethnic minorities and aims to promote the involvement of young people in the multifaceted process of civic integration and intercultural dialogue among them”, Akhvlediani pointed out.

The Minister added the participants were given the opportunity to learn about the priorities of civil equality and integration, to raise awareness of the opportunities and perspectives within the framework of state policy, to voice their views and generate ideas in an interactive mode.
