The Emergency Management Service of Georgia on Tuesday warned the public about an expected rise in air temperature across the country in the coming days, noting the development would increase the risk of forest and field fires.
The Service urged the public to “show high responsibility” and avoid lighting fires on agricultural lands and near forests or fields, and not leave fire pits unattended.
The body has also issued a warning on leaving household waste in open environments and pointed to risk of spontaneous combustion, asking members of the public to call the 112 emergency number immediately if they noticed smoke or fire.
