The Georgian backgammon player Nodar Gagua has claimed a gold medal and has become the world champion in backgammon.

The 55th Backgammon World Championship took place in Monaco, the Georgian Sport Backgammon Federation said on Wednesday.

Gagua, the captain of the Georgian national team, also won the Loutraki Backgammon Grand Prix in Greece in 2023.
