Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and the Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Wednesday said the country had a Government that was “serving the Georgian cause” and “protecting the interests” of its citizens.
Kaladze highlighted the importance of “maintaining peace” in the country and “moving forward”.
Of course, Georgia has a Government that serves the Georgian cause, protects the interests of our citizens, the country, and despite [external] pressure and threats, this attitude will remain the same until the end”, he said.
“We will maintain and pursue the pragmatic policy we have been pursuing. I will say directly that today, more than ever, our country needs peace, economic development and progress”, the Secretary General continued.
The official further claimed that “even today, there are forces that still want to open a second front” in the country amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.
