NATO Washington Summit declaration calls on Russia to withdraw forces from Georgia

Heads of state and governments participating in a meeting of NATO’s North Atlantic Council in Washington on Thursday issued a declaration of this year’s Summit of the bloc that calls on Russia to withdraw its forces from Georgia.

The declaration highlighted a “strong stance” against the continued presence of Russian forces in Moldova and Georgia.

“We also call on Russia to withdraw all of its forces from the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, stationed there without their consent”, it said.

Leaders of NATO countries also stressed a membership pledge for Ukraine.
