The United National Movement and Strategy Agmashenebeli opposition parties on Monday formed a new political platform Unity for Georgia’s Salvation ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26 in the country.
UNM Chair Tina Bokuchava announced the platform would include Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of Strategy Agmashenebeli, Sopo Japaridze, a member of UNM and public figures Armaz Akhvlediani, Lasha Bakradze, Gia Japaridze and Tamar Kordzaia.
If other parties have not been able to unite at this stage, let us unite with politicians, socially active persons, civil organisations and most importantly, young people who have shown us the power of unity the best. It is what makes us win, what gives us strength. Now it is our duty to bring this victory to the end”, Bokuchava said.
The new platform will use the UNM number in the voting.
