CoE Deputy Secretary, Georgia’s Representative sign protocols to European conventions on extradition, cybercrime

Tamar Taliashvili, Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, and Bjørn Berge, the Deputy Secretary General of the CoE, on Monday signed additional protocols to the European Convention on Extradition and the CoE Convention on Cybercrime on Enhanced Co-Operation and Disclosure of Electronic Evidence.

In her comments, Taliashvili said Georgia had “demonstrated success’ in combating cybercrime” by adhering to the standards established by the European Council.

“With today's step the mutual cooperation stipulated by the conventional framework with the member states of the Council of Europe and the United States, which is also a participant of this convention, will be further deepened”, she noted.

In his social media post, Berge extended his gratitude to Georgia’s representation in the Council and Taliashvili for their support on signing the documents.
