The heads of state and governments of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia on Tuesday vowed their support for Georgia in a joint statement of the Bucharest 9 Summit held in Latvia’s capital city of Riga.

The statement said the governments and officials would “continue to further strengthen NATO’s tailored support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and the Republic of Moldova”.

They noted the support would serve to recognise that “these partners are most affected by Russia’s malign influence”.

The joint statement was signed by the Polish President Andrzej Duda, the Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs and the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.
