Russian occupation forces have illegally detained a Georgian citizen near the Russian-occupied city of Tskhinvali, the State Security Service of Georgia said on Saturday.
The detention came in the occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region in the central part of the country.
The state body said it had activated a hotline operated for information exchange on developments along the occupation line and informed the European Union Monitoring Mission and co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions about the incident.
The Service also noted work was underway with international partners for releasing citizens illegally detained by the occupation forces.
