Georgia’s Communications Commission: mobile operators’ revenue surged by $32.98mln in 2023

The Georgian National Communications Commission on Tuesday said mobile communications providers in the country had increased their revenue from retail services by ₾92 million ($32.98mln), to ₾788 million ($282.47mln) in 2023 compared to the previous year.

From the internet and mobile telecommunications operators, MagtiCom accounted for 49 percent of the total figure, with Silknet and Cellfie Mobile at 35 and 16 percent respectively.

The Commission said MagtiCom’s income from mobile services increased by ₾42 million ($15.06mln), to ₾385 million ($138.01mln) last year, while Silknet’s income increased by ₾35 million ($12.55mln), to ₾275 million ($98.58mln) and Cellfie Mobile numbers went up by ₾14 million ($5.02mln), to ₾127 million ($45.52mln).

The body added the monthly average revenue per user increased by eight percent last year, amounting to ₾12.8 ($4.59).

The 2023 report also said the highest share of mobile devices in Georgia was from Samsung last year, accounting for 37.3 percent - a 1.1 percent less than in 2022.
