Deputy Economy Minister highlights significance of strengthening transport cooperation with EU at int’l forum

Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Guram Guramishvili emphasised the significance of strengthening cooperation with the European Union in transport while speaking at a ministerial meeting of the International Transport Forum held this week in Leipzig, Germany, the Ministry said on Friday.

Guramishvili shared the Government’s position on the geographical expansion of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport multilateral quotas, highlighting its importance for global cooperation, economic growth and innovation in the transport sector.

He also stressed the importance of enabling more companies registered in Georgia to transport cargo within the EU.

The Ministry said Guramishvili held meetings with government officials and transport and logistics business representatives during the ministerial.

The summit was attended by more than 1,100 representatives from over 60 countries, with the main theme of Greening Transport: Keeping Focus in Times of Crisis.
