Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said the number of unemployed individuals in the country had decreased by 50,600 people, down to 228,600.
Kobakhidze claimed “positive dynamics” in employment indicators, citing data published by the National Statistics Office.
He also said unemployment in the first quarter had dropped to 14 percent, from 18 percent in the same period of 2023.
The Government head added the number of employed individuals had increased by 89,400, to a total of 953,000, marking a 10.4 percent increase, while the figure for the self-employed had also grown by 40,500, to approximately 448,000.
