Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Masatsugu Asakawa, the President of the Asian Development Bank, on Saturday discussed the positive economic trends and progress in Georgia, as well as large-scale projects aimed at strengthening the transit role of the country.
At the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 57th annual meeting of the ADB in Tbilisi, the sides highlighted the Bank’s “special support” to Georgia by financing strategically important fields, including infrastructure, energy and education both in the public and private sectors, with ADB having 1.9$ worth 16 active investment projects in the country.
The parties also emphasised the country partnership strategy of the ADB and Georgia for the years 2024–2028, which aims to promote sustainable development of the country, the Government Administration said.
Kobakhidze affirmed that his Government continued implementing the structural reforms and strategic projects.
The PM also stressed the significance of hosting the Bank’s annual meeting in Georgia and expressed gratitude to Asakawa for his visit.
