Georgian police have arrested six individuals in the capital Tbilisi and other regions of the country on charges of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition over a recent period, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Sunday.
The Ministry revealed that law enforcement had seized a hunting rifle, a hand grenade, an explosive device, firearms, a revolver, pistols and cartridges, as well as marijuana from the accused persons.
The crimes are punishable by up to seven years in prison.
Law enforcement officers have arrested 18 individuals, including eight drug dealers, on drug-related charges for cases spanning over a recent period in the capital Tbilisi, the south-eastern region of Kvemo Kartli and western regions of Imereti, Adjara, Guria and Samegrelo.
Georgian police have arrested 13 individuals, including two foreign nationals, in capital Tbilisi and other regions of the country on charges of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition over a recent period, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Thursday.
Georgia’s Interior Ministry on Thursday said one individual had been arrested on charges of facilitating “unpermitted access to computer systems” of Georgian telecommunications provider Silknet and acquisition of personal data of citizens.
