Georgian FM, new Head of EU Monitoring Mission review situation in Russian-occupied regions

The security, human rights and humanitarian situation in Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions were reviewed at an introductory meeting between Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and the newly appointed Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia Bettina Patricia Boughani.

The parties stressed the need for the fulfilment of the EU-mediated cease-fire agreement, signed by Russia on 12 August 2008, on peaceful settlement of the Russia-Georgia conflict and establishing security on the ground, the Foreign Ministry said.
