The Georgian Government’s Coordination Commission on the Population Census on Monday approved an updated draft of the population and agricultural census programme.

The Government Administration said the Commission session was led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze earlier today, with Gogita Todradze, the Head of the National Statistics Office, presenting information on census methodology and questionnaires to Commission members.

The next nationwide census is scheduled to be conducted from November 14-December 19, with the agricultural census set to be organised along with the population survey to “optimise use of financial and human resources”, the body added.

The Administration said a “special questionnaire” would be used to collect information about agricultural activity of households, along with social and demographic data. Preliminary results of the census will be published in June 2025, followed by final results in June 2026.
