Georgian PM reviews healthcare services with medical business sector

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and representatives of the domestic medical business sector on Tuesday discussed the importance of ensuring “continuous, affordable and quality” healthcare services in the country, the Government Administration said.

The meeting emphasised the importance of the Government’s “active cooperation” with the medical sector for “ensuring patients’ interests”, with the PM highlighting the task as “the main priority” for the state.

The meeting also drew attention to the Government's approach to solving problems in the sector, along with priority issues. Soso Pkhakadze, the President of the Georgian Business Association, presented the perspective of the business on issues in the system.

The Administration said both the state and private sector agreed on the common principle of providing “maximum protection of interests of citizens and patients” and ensuring “continuous and high-quality services” for them.

The meeting also involved Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze and the Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
