Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday highlighted a “very fruitful meeting and discussion” with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in his first foreign visit to Brussels, and announced his upcoming visits to the neighbouring countries by noting “enhancing relations with neighbours is one of the main priorities [of the Gov’t]”.
The PM told the media that the meetings with NATO Sec Gen in February, including in the format of the NATO-Georgia Commission, were important to deepen ties between the country and the Alliance.
Naturally, any new opportunity will be used to talk about deepening relations”, Kobakhidze added.
He also emphasised that his first foreign visit to Brussels would be followed by visits to Azerbaijan on Saturday and Armenia next week, where he would review bilateral cooperation with the countries.
The Head of the Government stressed he would also discuss promoting and maintaining peace and stability in the South Caucasus region, adding “Georgia has always played a positive role [in this regard]”.
