Mikheil Sarjveladze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament's Committee on Human Rights, on Saturday hailed the Government’s new state programme titled For Building the European State as “an ambitious, realistic and convincing” programme.
Sarjveladze told Imedi TV channel that the document, published by the Parliament of Georgia on Friday, was “practically a hundred percent sophisticated” programme that “addresses the country’s needs”.
Maybe the [domestic] opposition sincerely believes that in reality, things are going towards progress, but they do not admit it”, the Parliament official noted in his comments over the opposition’s criticism of the state programme.
The programme highlights maintaining “a stable and safe” environment for citizens, strengthening democratic institutions, stimulating the economy “more” and taking “effective steps” necessary for the country’s integration into the European Union as the main goals of the Georgian Government.
