Finance Ministry Investigation Service investigating possible misappropriation of large amount of funds by Copyright Association Chair

The Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia on Friday said it was investigating the possible unlawful appropriation of a large amount of funds, belonging to the authors and performers, by Giga Kobaladze, the Chair of the Georgian Copyright Association.

The Service noted the investigation was being conducted based on the collective statement of the authors and performers, adding that “appropriate investigative activities” were underway to determine the factual circumstances of the case.

The body emphasised it would “periodically provide” the public with information on the progress and results of the investigation, due to the “high interest of the public”.
