Georgia’s Interior Ministry on Friday said its professionals had revealed a minor trafficking scheme and arrested two individuals and brought charges against one more person already in custody at that moment.
One individual has been accused of minor trafficking and the other two have been charged with the failure to report the “especially grave” crime, the body said, adding one of the already arrested persons had a criminal history.
As the investigation established, the accused, identified only through the initials, had developed a minor trafficking plan, using psychological pressure and forcing his child to beg in the streets of the country’s capital of Tbilisi and appropriated the collected sum.
The crime is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
