“Close partnership relations” between Georgia and the United States were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Anri Okhanashvili, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee and Robin Dunnigan, the United States Ambassador to the country.

The meeting focused on “priority matters” of the agenda of the Legal Affairs Committee and future cooperation, the Parliament said.

Okhanashvili thanked Dunnigan for supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and for the contribution made in supporting the process of Georgia being granted the European Union membership candidate status last month.

We reviewed many important matters for our country. We also discussed the nine priorities presented by the European Union, on which we are working, and agreed on further close cooperation”, the Georgian official said.

He added the development would promote and “further deepen” the close partnership cooperation between the two states.
