Relations between Georgia and Jordan were discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Archil Dzuliashvili, the country’s newly appointed Ambassador to Jordan, Iraq and Libya, the Government Administration said.
The meeting also discussed the project of building a Georgian culture centre near the Jordan River, in the latest development for the initiative that originated in the 2022 gifting of a plot of land by Jordan to Georgia for the purpose.
The officials noted a Government commission had approved the plan for the venue in December.
Dzuliashvili is a career diplomat, having served as Ambassador to India and Egypt over the recent years while also working as the permanent representative of the country to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
