Cooperation between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates was discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Abdulla Nasser Lootah, the Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange of the United Arab Emirates.
The parties “positively assessed” the dynamics of “high-level meetings” over the recent years, and noted Georgia was interested in deepening “partnership and friendly relations’ with the Gulf countries, the Government Administration said.
The meeting also covered cooperation in economics and governance and discussed the “favourable” investment environment and potential in Georgia, with Garibashvili noting its “important role” in ensuring connectivity and transit with the countries of Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The officials also discussed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between their countries, with the Prime Minister noting the agreement had laid a “solid foundation” for the development of “stronger and consolidated” trade and economic relations.
On his part, Lootah invited Garibashvili to attend the World Government Summit, scheduled to run between February 12-14 in Dubai.
The Government head noted his office was “ready to use” the Summit platform to strengthen cooperation with partners.
