Kutaisi International Airport continues flights despite bad weather

Despite heavy and intense snowfall in western Georgia, Kutaisi International Airport continues regular flights, the United Airports of Georgia announced on Wednesday.
The anti-icing procedures of the aircrafts were carried out in a “timely manner”, and all the scheduled flights, including arrivals and departures, have not been impacted, the body noted.
The United Airports of Georgia said due to rain and strong wind, Israeli airline Israir’s flight had been diverted from Batumi International Airport to Kutaisi International Airport, which received the flight, and the passengers were transported to Georgia's Black Sea city of Batumi.
The Kazakh budget airline FlyArystan will add flights from western Georgia’s Kutaisi Airport to the city of Almaty starting June 4, the United Airports of Georgia announced on Monday.
Roads across Georgia have been closed or restricted for certain types of traffic following snowfall and blizzard conditions, the Roads Department said on Tuesday.

Train services to destinations in Georgia’s west are experiencing delays due to heavy snowfall and adverse weather, Georgian Railway announced on Friday. The company said the services operated in principal directions were subject to delays, and added “minor” setbacks were originating from causes “independent” of GR. It offered passengers full refunds to tickets on the affected services.
Irakli Karkashadze, the Director of the United Airports of Georgia, met representatives of Air Serbia to discuss prospects of the airline launching operations at Tbilisi International Airport with direct flights connecting the two countries, the airports body said on Thursday.
