Roads in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi are being cleared following overnight snowfall as temperatures fell to the freezing threshold between Sunday and Monday.
Tbilisi City Hall said on Monday the clearing works had started late at night, with about 160 tons of technical salt added on roads throughout the city.
Roads of Aghmashenebeli Alley, Koshigora settlement, Mukhatgavedi Cemetery, Kakheti Highway, Lilo settlement, Vekua and Khizanishvili streets were salted during the procedure.
Professionals of city services also ensured morning traffic would have access to safe road conditions in Nutsubidze Plateau, Tbilisi Sea area, Zahesi Bridge surroundings in the north-western exit of the capital, as well as in the village of Giorgitsminda.
City authorities also said clearing works would continue on sections of city roads if required.
