Georgia's accession to the European Union, cooperation with the Czech legislative body and future plans were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Archil Talakvadze, the Georgian Parliament Vice Speaker and Petr Kubernát, the newly appointed Czech Ambassador to the country.
Talakvadze noted Georgia was enjoying “strong” support from the Czech Government for its European integration process.
The Ambassador told me that the Czech Republic would be ready to share its experience, which will help us on our path to joining the European Union”, the Georgian official said.
The meeting also focused on the projects the Czech Government was implementing in Georgia in “various directions”, with Kubernát expressing his support for the continuation of the initiatives.
The officials also reviewed the current political situation in Georgia and the 2024 parliamentary elections, with Talakvadze saying the country continued “further consolidation of democracy”.
