The body expressed gratitude towards the Sports Ministry for “constantly prioritising” para-athletes and personally thanked Minister Thea Tsulukiani, noting she was “the most active” defender of the rights of persons with disabilities.
The Paralympic movement in the country will never develop without the strong support of the state”, the Committee said, adding in 2012 only three para-athletes had been enrolled in the Paralympic Committee in two types of sports, while today’s number reached more than 300 athletes and 15 different sport types.
