Georgia’s popular winter resort Gudauri will have a festive opening for Winter Season 2023-2024 on December 20, the Mountain Trails Agency said on Thursday.
Gudauri will welcome the new season with the official opening of the two new ski lifts and three ski trails in the resort.
The 6-seater, open-seat type ski lifts have a capacity of 1800-2400 passengers per hour, meeting the needs of more visitors and ensuring international events run smoothly at a high standard”, the MTA said.
The Agency noted an additional 6 km skiing trail in Gudauri would create “a completely new skiing area for visitors”.

Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili on Tuesday said Georgia’s mountain resort of Gudauri would take a “worthy place” among the world's “leading ski resorts” after the completion of updates and modernisation of its infrastructure.
Representatives of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation and Infront Sports & Media sports marketing company have visited Georgia’s mountain resorts of Bakuriani and Gudauri to review infrastructure works and locations for broadcasting the upcoming FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup series in February, Georgia’s Mountain Trails Agency said on Monday.
Georgia’s ski resort of Gudauri will benefit from continuous water supply as part of a ₾22 million ($8,486,017) project initiated by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
