PM’s participation in UN Economic Forum confirms Georgia is “valuable partner” - Parliament official

Givi Mikanadze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Education and Science Committee, on Saturday said Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s participation in the Economic Forum of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia was a confirmation that “Georgia is a valuable partner”.

Mikanadze noted the fact that the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev invited the Georgian PM as a special guest at the Forum in Baku was a demonstration of Georgia’s importance, highlighting the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Garibashvili addressed the Forum on Friday emphasising the increased role of the South Caucasus as an “important transit and logistics” hub amid the “current geopolitical context”. The Head of the Government also discussed the “centuries-old” neighbourly relations with the Azerbaijani President.
