Georgia’s Mariam Murgvliani and Giorgi Kirvalidze claimed gold medals at the IWF World Junior Weightlifting Championships, the competition that ran in the Mexican city of Guadalajara between November 15-23.
Murgvliani earned her gold in the 87 kg weight category after lifting 102 kg in snatch and 123 kg in clean and jerk, with the combined total of 225 kg earned her another top result in the competition.
In the 109 kg category of the tournament, Kirvalidze claimed gold by lifting 169 kg in snatch, and bronze with the combined result of 364 kg.

At the tournament, three other bronze medals went to Georgia’s Saba Asanidze, Guram Vekua and Zurab Mskhaladze.
