Deputy Agriculture Minister reviews World Bank report on progress, challenges of green economy in Georgia

Solomon Pavliashvili, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, on Thursday featured in a meeting reviewing the World Bank’s report on recent progress and challenges in transitioning countries including Georgia to a green economy.

In his comments on the report, published on Monday, Pavliashvili said a “number of reforms” had been implemented by the Government to achieve economic growth, transition to the green economy model and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The official said joint work from the state and private sectors and the public was needed for “full and correct” implementation of regulations, and added the Ministry was working “on a daily basis” together with partner agencies to carry out and implement reforms and legislative changes “effectively” and solve the “emerging challenges”.
